Our members’ work with large and small clients has generated billions of pounds in revenue through the creation and exploitation of IP in domestic and global markets.
Founded in 1993, BIDA operates as a not-for-profit organisation and receiving no government funding or intervention, we are wholly financed by our members and run by voluntary national and regional boards of passionate professional designers.
We are the UK’s only professional body representing those working in the field of Engineering Design. Our members work in a diverse range of industries that span product design, architecture, mechanical, automotive and aircraft design, design education, IT and computing.

designaustria – Knowledge Centre & Interest Organization
designaustria is Austria’s premier contact point for design. Founded in 1927, designaustria has accumulated comprehensive knowledge in this field, and its international network is accordingly far reaching.
We, the members of designaustria, are the heart of the organization, and we represent a major part of design knowledge in Austria. Via our structure of ExpertsClusters, this knowledge is made available. designaustria raises an awareness for design through exhibitions, teaching programmes, publications, and public relations activities and points out the benefits of design for the society and economy.
designaustria represents the country’s design scene on both national and international levels and promotes the latter’s achievements – »Design in Austria« .
designaustria emphasizes the role designers play when it comes to increasing the value of Austrian products and services and strengthening Austria as an industrial location – »to design Austria«
Design will be the key factor for economic success in the years to come. It is necessary for Austria to be well informed about design, for as hosts to the European design community Austrians need to develop an awareness for design. That is why we commit ourselves to Austria as a design nation.
Since its creation in 1963, SPFP - The Association of Industrial Designers in Poland concentrates on the promotion and diffusion of knowledge about industrial design, on promotion of concern for a high professional and ethical level of industrial design, on representing the community of Polish industrial designers in liaison with various bodies, on commenting and giving opinions concerning professional design practice, on supporting members by promotion of their achievements and practical advice. SPFP has been a member of BEDA (Bureau of European Design Associations).
